DPA Families: We hope you all are having a safe and enjoyable summer! Teachers have returned and are planning and preparing for your scholars to come back in just 2 short weeks. As we approach the first day of school we wanted to provide you with important information about some of our school policies, attendance, and upcoming events. We have a lot of work to do this year, and we are so excited to accomplish our goals with you as partners. Please see below… Updates

August 7th – High School New & 9th Grade Families Meeting (5pm) August 8th – Middle School New Families Meeting (5pm) August 10th – Uniform Sale August 19th is the official start of SY 24-25. Please see key dates and details below. Our goal is 95% attendance. Everyday counts. Scholars who have 95% attendance are 95% more likely to be on track for grade level mastery and college and career readiness. August 19th – 6th, 9th, & 12th Grade Orientation – 1pm Dismissal {MANDATORY} August 20th – 7th, 8th, 10th, & 11th Grade Orientation – 1pm Dismissal {MANDATORY} August 21st – FIRST DAY OF CLASSES FOR ALL SCHOLARS – 1pm Dismissal August 22nd & 23rd – 1pm Dismissal August 26th – Full Day September 4th – Picture Day | Grades 6-12 October 9th & October 10th – Parent Teacher Conferences |

Uniforms & Uniform Sales Event |

UNIFORM SALE EVENT Date: Saturday – August 10th Hours: 10 am – 3:00 pm Location: DPA High School Cafeteria Address: 709 12th Street SE ALL DPA scholars in grades 6th – 12th are REQUIRED to wear the DPA Uniform. UNIFORM POLICY Digital Pioneers Academy requires ALL scholars to be in uniform everyday. The school uniform builds community, removes distractions from the learning environment, and ultimately prepares scholars for 21st century careers. ALL scholars are required to come to school in full uniform all year, unless instructed otherwise. New Scholar Parent Meeting |

In an effort to make sure all New Families have all of the information they need, and grant them a space to speak directly with the team ahead of the first week of school, DPA will be hosting a “New Families Parent Meeting” at both of our campuses. During this time you will hear directly from school leaders, teachers and current students and have the ability to ask any questions you might have about the upcoming school year. School Policies |

DPA PERSONAL DEVICE & CELL PHONE POLICY Digital Pioneers Academy prohibits the use of personal electronic devices within the school building. The usage of personal devices are a distraction to the learning environment, and can lead to cases of academic dishonesty. This is non-negotiable. ALL Scholars are required to turn in their personal devices (Cell Phones, Air Pods, iPads, Apple Watches) at the beginning of each day to their assigned technology bin. ALL devices will be returned at the end of each instructional day. DPA is not responsible for any lost, stolen or damaged Personal Technology that is not turned into the technology bin in the morning.
OUTSIDE FOOD & DRINK POLICY Digital Pioneers Academy has contracted “Red Rabbit” to provide free breakfast and lunch to ALL Scholars for the 24-25 school year. DPA held tastings, and feedback groups, with both scholars and staff to select this year’s meal provider. All scholars have access to this program. Scholars are also allowed to bring their own lunch to school, but prohibits the use of food delivery services during the school day. Any meal that is delivered via (Including but limited too) UberEats, Door-dash, or GoPuff will be placed in the main office. Scholars will ONLY be able to retrieve these meals at the end of each instructional day. No Exceptions. |

Attendance Notification |
|
Digital Pioneers Academy maintains a goal that 95% of our scholars have 95%+ daily attendance. In order to achieve this goal we must work together to make sure that your scholar is at school everyday. Scholars are expected to arrive on time and in full uniform everyday. When scholars are not in school, they are not in front of high quality instructors, receiving high quality instruction. Scholars who are Chronically Absent and/or truant, on average, see a 20% decrease in proficiency & growth, compared to scholars with satisfactory attendance. It is mission-critical for scholars to have satisfactory attendance this school year. Everyday a scholar is absent, there is a prescribed Attendance Intervention that DPA will issue with fidelity. |
