DPA provides a free shuttle bus between the middle school and high school.
Digital Pioneers Academy is a free, public charter school open to all DC students. DPA does not charge tuition.
- DPA is open to all DC students in grades 6th-12th.
- To apply, please visit the MySchoolDC website and rank DPA as one of your top three choices.
- Digital Pioneers Academy offers a rigorous college-prep curriculum. Students study English, math, social studies, science, and physical education.
- Students study computer science and robotics.
- Our high school offers Advanced Placement courses.
We offer classes in music and art; clubs such as robotics and Spanish; and team sports such as step, basketball, volleyball, cheer, soccer, and high school football. Learn more about our extracurriculars and athletics.

- The DPA bus leaves the Middle School at 3:35 pm
High School

- Period 0 is not mandatory: 7:45 am – 8:30 am
- Yes, all scholars are required to wear school uniforms.
- Once you are enrolled at DPA, we provide information about how to purchase uniforms from the school or directly from our vendor.
- Students receive their own computers to use throughout the school day.
- Students also have access to computers after school to complete homework assignments.
- We provide students with a healthy and delicious breakfast and lunch.
- While students are welcome to bring their own meals, meals at school are available free of charge to students.
We are committed to educating all students, especially those with diverse learning needs. Any family can request a special education evaluation to determine whether their child needs an Individualized Education Plan (IEP). We educate students in the least restrictive learning environment, and our teachers meet individual learning needs.
Digital Pioneers Academy participates in the common application and common lottery for the District’s public school options. The priority lottery timeline starts in December and closes at the beginning of March. For the 2024-25 school year, the priority lottery ends on March 1, 2024. - Students are given preference in the school lottery if they have a sibling who already attends Digital Pioneers Academy.
- Families should identify their sibling preference in their MySchoolDC application.

- Complete this Home and Hospital Instruction Request form if you believe your child may qualify for this education.
