Digital Pioneers Academy is a tuition-free public charter middle and high school in Southeast DC, open to all students. We offer a safe and joyful school with caring teachers and a rigorous curriculum.

JOYFUL SCHOOL COMMUNITY

We believe that relationships among peers, families, and teachers are key to every scholar’s success. We create a space where all scholars are known, loved, and respected.

COMPUTER SCIENCE FOR ALL

Scholars are taught a rich and engaging curriculum that is grounded in computer science skills. All scholars learn computer science for an hour each day in every grade. Our curriculum teaches problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and creativity.

COLLEGE & CAREER CONNECTIONS

Students learn the skills, academic knowledge, and mindsets needed to graduate from four-year colleges and prepare for high-paying, high-demand jobs. Students gain real-world experience by inventing, designing, and solving challenging problems.

WELL-ROUNDED EDUCATION

Extracurricular activities and athletics support DPA’s focus on college readiness. We partner with different organizations to provide options that are of interest to our scholars.

We offer classes in music and art, clubs such as robotics and Spanish, and team sports such as step, basketball, volleyball, cheer, soccer, and football.

  • DPA provides a free shuttle bus between the middle school and high school.
  • Middle school is within walking distance of bus stops.
  • High school is accessible through multiple bus stops and train stations within walking distance.

APPLICATION PROCESS

Digital Pioneers Academy is enrolling students in grades 6-12 for the 2024-25 school year. Families must apply through the MySchoolDC.org website. Students must meet age and residency requirements to enroll. Student applications received after the lottery deadlines will be admitted on a first-come, first-served basis.
